Hamilton, William [pseudonym of the German spymaster Ignatz Theodor Griebl]. SALUTE THE JEW! Chicago, IL: Published by the Author, (1935) 1st FOR PRIVATE CIRCULATION ONLY.  9-1/4 inches high by 6-1/4 inches wide. The German-American physician and WWII German spymaster Dr. Ignatz Theodor Griebl (born in 1899) wrote this booklet under the pseudonym William Hamilton. After immigrating to the US in 1925, Griebl first set up a medical practice in Maine before moving to Yorkville, New York. Becoming head of the German spy network in New York, Griebl recruited other sympathizers to spy for the German regime. The FBI became suspicious and, as was the practice, performed mandatory polygraph tests on those they deemed possible German spies. Somehow, Griebl passed the test. Though suspicions were allayed, Griebl fled to Germany a few days later.  Extremely scarce original copy.  VG condition.
